While Easter might have the biggest reputation for serving some mouth-watering hams, anyone who has had Christmas hams knows how great the baked dish tastes on a cold winter night. A holiday ham is one of those old-school Christmas traditions that has stayed around for a reason. It’s classic, comforting, and there are tons of flavor combinations to try so that it never gets old.
As tempting as it may be on December 25th to head to Cracker Barrel (which is a restaurant open on Christmas!) there really is nothing that tastes better than a home-cooked meal, and the hungry mouths at your table will agree. Since our preferences and cooking skills are always evolving, this may be the year to attempt a new baked ham recipe. There are so many options out there that incorporate your favorite glazed ham ingredients like brown sugar, Dijon mustard and pineapple, but with fun additions like bourbon, Dr. Pepper and ginger beer. Who would’ve thought to use soda in a ham glaze?
