A Childhood Home of Gloria Vanderbilt Finally Finds a Buyer

On the Upper East Side, Mr. Brandon, formerly of Toys “R” Us, sold his home at 21 East 61st Street, at Madison Avenue, a.k.a. the Carlton House, through a trust for $15.5 million.

The apartment extends 3,503 square feet, with three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, along with a media room and a large windowed eat-in kitchen. There is also a 1,121-square-foot wraparound terrace that provides cityscape and Central Park views.

Mr. Brandon was chief executive of Toys “R” Us from 2015 to 2018. He had also headed Domino’s Pizza and was athletic director of the University of Michigan.

The buyer used the limited liability company AG Squared RE Holdings.

In Midtown, the Mendelsohns paid almost $15.1 million for an apartment at Central Park Tower, at 217 West 57th Street, the latest addition by Extell Development to Billionaires’ Row.

The sponsor unit, encompassing nearly 3,100 square feet, has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Mr. Mendelsohn is a British lobbyist and Labor Party organizer; Ms. Mendelsohn is a vice president of the global business group at Meta, formerly known as Facebook.
