A Funny Conversation Game for All Ages

Paris puppet show

Last week, I went to my friend Lucy’s house for dinner, and her eight-year-old daughter sat down with us before heading to bed. Instead of asking about school (“What’s your favorite subject?” groan), we decided to play a rousing pre-bedtime game of Would You Rather. Here were some of the questions we came up with…

Would you rather:
be lost at sea or lost in the desert?
be an amazing singer or an amazing dancer?
always feel a little too hot or a little too cold?
have the power of flight versus invisibility?
travel back in time or into the future?
adopt a puppy or kitten?
eat only savory food or only sweet food?
speak any language or be a math genius?

Gemma, who was sitting next to me, said her boys like the dark ones, so she asked: would you rather do a small burp every five minutes or a small fart every five minutes? You guys, there IS a right answer!

Do you remember this children’s book from the 1990s? I loved it when I was a kid. Alex and I also like playing while out to dinner or on trips.

Thoughts? What questions would you add?

P.S. 12 actually fun games to play with kids, and remember M.A.S.H.?
