Putting all speculations to rest, Karan Johar has finally announced his new production with actor Sidharth Malhotra. In a tweet, the Padma Shri award-winning filmmaker stated that Sidharth will star in his next action film franchise. Yodha is going to be Dharma Productions’ first action franchise. The tweet read, “After conquering the peaks, I am proud to present Sidharth Malhotra back with power in the first of the action franchise by Dharma Productions – Yodha.” The franchise will be directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. Karan Johar also disclosed the date of the release of the film. He wrote, “Landing in cinemas near you on 11th November 2022.”
Karan Johar released a teaser of the film where we get to see the first look of Sidharth Malhotra inside an aeroplane holding a gun. One of the wheels of the aeroplane is on fire, with screaming passengers inside, making for a chaotic ambience. Fans showed their excitement and commented that they couldn’t wait for Yodha to release.

Karan Johar also released two posters of Yodha where we see Sidharth Malhotra posing in a rugged look with a gun in hand. The filmmaker wrote, “Yodha is coming to hijack your screens on 11th November 2022. Directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha.” He added, “Stay tuned because our female leads will be announced soon!”

Earlier, Karan Johar prepared the grounds for today’s announcement with a video about a film that would be “the first of many in the franchise”. He promised that the film, which is a result of “one year of blood and sweat”, will have “a kick of drama” and “a punch of thrill”. Under his banner Dharma Productions, Karan Johar along with three other production houses recently produced the blockbuster high-octane action film Sooryavanshi. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. He also backed the Netflix film Meenakshi Sundareshwar.
Sidharth Malhotra was last seen in Shershaah, which was directed by Vishnuvardhan. In it, he played the role of Captain Vikram Batra. He will be next seen in Thank God and Mission Majnu. Sidharth Malhotra made his debut in Student Of The Year, which was directed by Karan Johar.
