Atlantic City is where New Yorkers, Philadelphians, and New Jerseyans go to party. Indeed, for well over a century, this Jersey Shore destination has attracted them with its beaches, its nightlife, and of course, its casinos.
After going through some tough times in the late 20th century, Atlantic City is making a comeback. Currently, there are nine casinos to choose from in AC. However, some are far better than the rest – below, we’ll reveal what we believe to be the best casinos in Atlantic City.
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
The days of the Taj Mahal are over. Not long ago, the former Trump property closed its doors for good. But thankfully, a new development group took possession of the site and reshaped it into the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
True to its name, this resort boasts multiple stages, where the hottest music acts perform regularly. When you aren’t taking in a performance, live it up at one of the Hard Rock’s numerous bars/nightclubs, or relax at the spa.
And when the time comes to hit the gaming floor, you’ll have plenty to choose from. The Hard Rock Casino boasts over 2,100 slots/video poker terminals, and more than 120 table games. Ocean Resort Casino
Whilst Atlantic City is on the upswing, it’s undeniable – most of its casinos are quite dated. Not Ocean Resort Casino – this gleaming addition to the Atlantic City boardwalk opened in 2018. Here, the ingrained scent of cigarettes is blissfully absent. Instead, you’ll find fresh, unstained carpet, gleaming blue glass, and attractions like a Topgolf Swing Simulator.
When the time comes to game, you’ll have over 1,900 machines and nearly 100 table games to pick from. And, if you love poker, there are eight tables to sit at – be sure to get on the list early to avoid lengthy waits.
Tropicana Casino and Resort
Aside from a much lower count, Atlantic City casinos have one big weakness – they lack extensive non-gaming amenities. But of course, there’s always an exception to every rule. In AC, the Tropicana Casino and Resort is that exception.
The Tropicana boasts four outdoor pools, an IMAX theatre, 25 restaurants, 17 bars/nightclubs, an auditorium, a spa, a golf course, and lots of shopping. If you bore easily, this resort will be equal to the task.
Oh, and by the way – we haven’t even mentioned Tropicana’s gaming options yet. On their casino floor, you’ll find more than 2,400 machines, 170 table games, and an 18-table poker room. If you can’t figure out how to have a good time here, we don’t know what to tell you.
