Love is in the air all thanks to Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar. The power couple is set to get married on February 21 and all eyes are on them for glimpses of the much-awaited wedding and its preparation. As the excitement around the forthcoming nuptials continues to grow, the actor-director shared two images of his partner Shibani Dandekar. Taken inside what appears to be a car, the pictures feature Shibani in a mask and her hair tied up in a messy bun. While the love is palpable even in the grainy pictures, it is the caption that has our heart. In the caption, Farhan Akhtar wrote, “Forever co-traveller,” with a heart emoji, tagging Shibani Dandekar.
Shibani Dandekar had an equally mushy response to the sweet post. In the comments section, she wrote, “My forever favourite in everything,” with a heart emoji.

As rumours of the couple’s wedding gained traction, it was Farhan Akhtar’s father and veteran writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar who confirmed the news. In an interaction with Bombay Times, he said that the wedding is taking place on February 21. The report quoted him as saying: “Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners,” further adding that keeping the pandemic in mind, the wedding will be a “simple” affair and that they are “only calling a few people.”
When asked about his to-be daughter-in-law Shibani Dandekar, Javed Akhtar said, “She is a nice girl. All of us like her very much. The most important thing is that Farhan and she get along well, which is great.”
Shibani Dandekar, meanwhile, spent some quality time with her family over the weekend. Anusha Dandekar, Shibani’s sister shared pictures of her with the family and wrote, “The Dandekar’s….” Referring to their pet dogs, she further added, “[Gangsta was busy exploring somewhere, Monster was trying to tell him to get back in the picture hehe].”
Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar started dating in 2018. Throughout their courtship, the couple has often shared pictures and videos of each other on their Instagram timelines much to the delight of fans.
On Farhan Akhtar’s birthday last month, Shibani Dandekar had shared a picture in which they are setting fashion goals as well as couple goals, all at once. “My Foo, to what will be your best year yet. Love you Forever. Happy birthday,” the note said.
Farhan Akhtar is one of the most celebrated director-actors in the country with films such as Dil Chahta Hai, the Don series, Rock On!! and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to his credit. Shibani Dandekar is known for her work in Four More Shots Please! and has also served as a host in the Indian Premier League.
