Texas Trash Dip

I don’t know about you guys, but I love football season. And let’s be honest. It’s not because of the football game! To me, football season is all about getting together with friends and eating delicious food! I mean, isn’t it all about the food and dips? Ok, maybe not to everyone, but still… The food is a big part of it, and this Texas trash dip is no exception! Dip it with your favorite tortilla chips, and you will not move from the couch until every last bite is scraped from that bowl!

I have no idea why this dip has the word trash in it! That word couldn’t put it farther from the truth because it’s basically a mixture that comes straight from heaven. It’s quick and easy to make and once you top it with that cheese that is all melted, well… Let’s just say that I will be shocked if you aren’t hooked after making one batch. We usually double or triple the recipe because it gets eaten SO fast.

  • Taco Seasoning: You can use store bought taco seasoning or use this delicious homemade taco seasoning recipe to take this dip to the next level!
  • Mexican Cheese Blend: You will use some of this cheese in the dip and also on top!
  • Optional Toppings: chopped cilantro, cherry tomatoes, sliced avocado.

Can You Cook Texas Trash Dip in a Slow Cooker?

Yes! Mix everything together, and instead of cooking it in your oven, put it in your crockpot and cook it on high for 2 hours. Then, top with additional cheese and your toppings!
