In the next five years, both the companies will majorly focus on converting over 1 lakh ICE-powered two-wheelers used in last-mile delivery to electric vehicles.
New Delhi-based electric fleet startup MoEVing has partnered with Hero Electric to accelerate adoption of affordable electric vehicles (EVs) in the country. Through this partnership, the companies aim to deploy 1 million EV by 2030. In FY2021-22, MoEVing will deploy around 1000 Hero Electric scooters through its platform for B2B e-commerce players, retail, 3PL and FMCG companies. Both the companies will majorly focus on converting over 1 lakh ICE-powered two-wheelers used in last-mile delivery to EV in the next five years.
MoEVing will create a platform to bring various stakeholders such as Hero Electric to accelerate the switch to EV space. Hero Electric will assist MoEVing to deploy EVs seamlessly across the country through its Pan India network without worrying about the after-sales service. Additionally, the MoEVing platform will provide access to data and analytics module with Hero Electric on vehicle performance, battery performance and other maintenance issues, on real-time basis to help accelerate technology, product, and service improvements.
Vikash Mishra, Founder & CEO of MoEVing said, “Our partnership with Hero Electric fits right into our larger mission to drive sustainable mobility along with sustainable livelihoods for drivers. As a technology platform, we look forward to working with Hero Electric in a collaborative way to ensure there is accelerated uptake in EV adoption in the last mile mobility segment across India.”
Commenting on the partnership, Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric said “Through the last year, we have been successful in transforming the last mile delivery solutions from ICE engines to Electric vehicles. Multiple factors have aided this starting from the low cost of ownership to high range per charge and great policies from the governments. We are witnessing more and more businesses opting for cleaner solutions to reach their consumers.”
He further said that the partnership with MoEVing will help both the companies achieve its vision of deploying 1 million EV by 2030.
