Twinkle Khanna is known for her witty quips and intelligent takes on things happening around her. Her sense of humour is often reflected in her columns and books. That’s not all, her wit and candour also make her a social media sensation and a favourite across age groups. And, it looks like the sense of humour has passed on to her daughter Nitara as well. As the little one prepared to attend her first day of virtual school, she chose to dress in a rather amusing costume – a jacket with the hood covering her face entirely. Sharing an image of Nitara, Twinkle Khanna said, “Dressing up for the first day of virtual school. She makes her sartorial point clear.”
Referring to the fall in temperature – a rarity in Mumbai where Twinkle Khanna resides with her husband Akshay Kumar and family – she added, “Also wearing three pairs of tights and two jackets like all Bombay crackpots who are pretending we actually experience any season besides hot and damp or warm and wet.”
Replying to the image, director Tahira Kashyap said, “Haha cutie.”
A few days ago, Twinkle Khanna posted a photo of Nitara and herself hanging out in a hammock in the Maldives, books in hand. In the caption, Twinkle Khanna shared that both mother and daughter share a love for books. “She swats me down with that tongue that could double up as an electric mosquito racket and always has more questions than I have answers,” she said.
“My only respite is to thrust a book in her hand so that her mind is occupied and her mouth is zipped up. Yet another reason to get them to read — A book a day keeps pesky kids at bay!” Twinkle Khanna declared.
Before that, Twinkle Khanna shared a picture of her kissing Nitara and penned a poignant note for her. “A mother needs to keep an eye on her child’s mind as much as she does on her homework. She must follow the tendrils of her thoughts, and each time she sees something askew, she has to nudge it back in place and she needs to do this every single day.”
Twinkle Khanna continued, “I may be far from perfect and I live with that guilt like most other members that belong to this tribe, but if I can do this much, then that’s good enough and perhaps good enough is as marvellous as we all need to be.”
Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar have been married since 2001. The couple welcomed their son, Aarav Kumar in 2002 and their daughter Nitara in 2012.
