Indian car manufacturer, Tata Motors, has recently announced the launch of its refreshed, 2021 range of passenger vehicle in Nepal. The company has launched a total of five BS6 compliant vehicles in our neighbouring country, including – the Tata Tiago hatchback, Tigor subcompact sedan, Altroz premium hatchback, Nexon subcompact SUV, and the H5 SUV (sold in India as the Harrier). The Tata passenger vehicles were launched in Nepal in association with the company’s sole authorised distributor for the country, Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd.

All five models launched in Nepal comply with the more stringent BS6 emission regulations, and they also employ the company’s ‘Impact 2.0’ design language. Both in terms of features and specifications, the cars remain similar to the India-spec models. The Tata Tiago and Tigor come with a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT unit. The former boasts of good safety features, along with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It is available in six colours – Victory Yellow, Flame Red, Pearlescent White, Pure Silver, Daytona Grey and Tectonic Blue, along with a dual-tone option with all the colours, with a starting price of NPR 28 lakh ( ₹ 17.50 lakh). The Tigor gets similar features, but come in five colours – Deep Red, Pearlescent White, Pure Silver, Daytona Grey and Arizona Blue, and with a starting price at NPR 32.50 lakh ( ₹ 20.32 lakh).

The Tata Altroz gets is only offered with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car has a 5-star safety rating from the Global NCAP, and it will be sold only in the XM+ variant in Nepal, priced at NPR 35.50 lakh ( ₹ 22.20 lakh). The Nepal-spec Tata Nexon, on the other hand, comes with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor, and features like – an electric sunroof, electronic stability program and connected car technology. It’s also a 5-star safety rated vehicle, and is available in six colours – Foliage Green, Flame Red, Tectonic Blue, Pure Silver, Daytona Grey and Calgary White, along with dual-tone roof options for all the colour options, at a starting price of NPR 39.95 lakh ( ₹ 24.97 lakh).

Along with the manual model, Tata has also launched the automatic version of the SUV in Nepal. It also comes with new features like a panoramic sunroof and a 6-way powered driver seat with adjustable lumbar support. It is available in five colours – Calypso Red, Orcus White, Atlas Black, Telesto Grey and Camo Green, at a starting price of NPR 84.99 lakh ( ₹ 53.16 lakh).
