Tata Motors Registered 94 Per Cent Growth In PV Sales

Tata Motors has recorded an increase of 28 per cent in its overall domestic sales (PV + CV business) selling 57,742 units when compared to 45,242 units sold a year ago.

Tata Motors registered a whopping 94 per cent growth in passenger vehicle sales.

Tata Motors has recorded an uptick of 94 per cent in its year-on-year (YoY) sales in January 2021 selling 26,978 units as compared to 13,894 units sold in the same month a year ago. The India carmaker sold 23,545 units in the previous month (December 2020) and has so recorded a month-on-month (MoM) growth of 15 per cent. In fact, the company has recorded an increase of 28 per cent in its overall domestic sales (PV + CV business) selling 57,742 units when compared to 45,242 units sold a year ago. The Company’s overall month-on-month (MoM) sales went up by 8 per cent as it sold 53,430 in the previous month.

Tata Motors has recorded a decline in CV sales.

Speaking of commercial vehicles, the company has recorded a growth of 22 per cent in the medium & heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) segment selling 8416 units as compared to 6914 units sold in the same month last year. In the intermediate and light commercial vehicle (I & LCV) segment, the company has recorded a growth of 29 per cent selling 4955 units as compared to 3827 units sold in the same month last year. However, the passenger carrier segment saw a drop of 73 per cent selling 1007 units as compared to 3666 units sold in the same month last year.

The small commercial segment (SCV) too saw a small dip of 3 per cent selling 16,386 per cent as compared to 16,941 units sold in the same month last year. Overall, the company’s total CV sales in the domestic market went down by 2 per cent at 30,764 units as compared to 29,885 units sold in the same month a year ago. Its CV exports too came down by 15 per cent at 2145 units as compared to 2984 units exported in the same month a year ago.
