Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: Technical bids were invited for construction of bridges
Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), responsible for developing the country’s first bullet train project, invited technical bids for the construction of bridges for the double line high-speed railway between Zaroli Village at Maharashtra – Gujarat Border and Vadodara on March 4. A total of four bidders participated in the process and the submitted bids will go through an evaluation process in the next stage. According to a statement shared by NHSRCL, as of now the participating bidders for the package are Ranjit Buildcon Limited, M G Contractors Pvt Limited, KEC – SAM India JV, and GRIL – GPT (JV). Along with this, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited also invited technical bids for the construction of bridges and steel tuss bridges in a separate tender. These bridges will be constructed for the double line high-speed railway between Vadodara and Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat for the bullet train project. As of now, the participating bidders for the package are URC Construction (P) Limited, Ranjit Buildcon Limited, KEC – SAM India JV, M G Contractors Pvt Limited, and GRIL – GPT (JV). The country’s first bullet train corridor – the 508 km long high-speed rail, will operate at a speed of 320 km per hour, once completely implemented for services. Along the route, the high-speed bullet train will cover 12 stations, passing through various regions in Gujarat, Maharashtra, as well as Dadra and Nagar Haveli. According to NHSRCL, the entire distance will be covered in two-three hours with all stops. Meanwhile, recently, organisation signed a contract agreement worth Rs 1,390 crore with infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) – IHI Consortium for the procurement and fabrication of 28 steel bridges, for crossing over railway lines, rivers, highways, roads, and other structures of the Mumbai Ahmedabad bullet train project.
