If you’re looking for a tropical vacation and want to plan a getaway to the Carribean, the Island of Aruba is an excellent choice. As typical for the Caribbean, the island boasts plenty of palm trees, turquoise blue waters and white sandy beaches where you can relax and unwind. There are of course other things to do here, such as visiting the colorful capital of Oranjestad and exploring the arid cact-filled landscape of Arikok National Park, but most visitors come simply for the impressive beaches and watersports. Palm Beach
Palm Beach is Aruba’s most popular beach and where most of the action is. This palm tree-fringed beach always has a lot going on, with plenty of high-rise hotels, cafes, restaurants and watersports shops offering activities such as parasailing and tubing. If you’re looking for a resort in Palm Beach, the Barceló Aruba offers 373 rooms which all feature a balcony. The resort also boasts 7 restaurants and bars, so you’ll never be short of options when it comes to dining and entertainment. There’s also a spectacular outdoor pool and a casino if you fancy trying your luck at the tables.
Eagle Beach
South of Palm Beach you’ll find Eagle Beach, which is less crowded and more relaxing. Rated 3rd best beach in the world by TripAdvisor in 2017, this beach has beautiful clear waters and powdery white sand. Make sure you get there early if you wish to grab a shady spot underneath one of the beach umbrellas or a Divi-divi tree.
Andicuri Beach
Andicuri Beach is popular with surfers and bodyboarders who come to catch some of the waves crashing onto the shore. Since this beach is quite remote and secluded, you’ll need a 4×4 to get there.
Malmok Beach
Fancy going snorkelling or subadiving? You’ll want to head to Malmok Beach, which has a rocky shoreline and reefs where you can spot plenty of fish and sea turtles, as well as the 400-foot SS Antilla shipwreck. It’s not the type of beach with soft sand beneath your feet, so be careful not to trip over the rocks when getting in and out of the water and bring some type of water shoes if you have them. You won’t find any fancy restaurants at this beach, so bring your own refreshments and snacks too.
Boca Catavlina
Another great place for snorkeling is Boca Catavlina, where you can see colorful fish, turtles, morays, squids and sea urchins. This beach is popular with boat tours since the reefs and rocks are teeming with sea life.
Baby Beach
Baby Beach is a beautiful sandy beach with calm, shallow waters, which makes it the ideal spot for families with children. This beach features restrooms and sun loungers available for rent, plus there’s a restaurant serving food and drinks in case you’re feeling peckish.
