Including H&M’s new collaboration with Indian designer Sabyasachi.

With summer winding down and that back-to-school vibe in the air (not to mention many folks making their return to the office), Ciara’s new commuter-friendly accessory brand Dare to Roam has launched just in time. Plus, Tommy Hilfiger’s new collection with Romeo Hunte and more fashion news you need to know.

Ciara’s accessory brand is inspired by movement

It’s time to add “designer” to this singer’s resumé. Ciara’s accessory brand Dare to Roam, made of antimicrobial and water-resistant fabrics, launched on August 11. The collection was inspired by “life in motion” and created to make commuting and travelling as easy (and stylish) as possible. For every purchase made, three percent of sales go toward the Why Not You Foundation, which fights child poverty through education and mentorship.

Tommy Hilfiger reimagines iconic styles with help from Brooklyn designer Romeo Hunte

Adding another feather to his proverbial collaboration cap, Tommy Hilfiger’s latest partnership is with Brooklyn designer and long-time mentee, Romeo Hunte. Launched on August 12, the collection fittingly named TommyXRomeo dives into the Hilfiger archives. It includes reconstructed interpretations of iconic pieces like his classic trench coat remixed with colour-blocking panels. This new line is part of the brand’s People’s Place Program, an initiative created to provide opportunities for underrepresented BIPOC fashion talent and foster a diverse and inclusive community. In a statement Hilfiger wrote, “I’m really proud of our capsule — it’s truly a meeting point of our two worlds. Together we’ve really focused on passing the mic to the next generation of BIPOC creatives and thought leaders to increase representation and amplify their talent globally. ”

H&M’s latest collaboration is with Indian designer Sabyasachi

In the ultimate global fashion marriage, Swedish juggernaut H&M is collaborating with Indian designer Sabyasachi on a 70-piece collection featuring women’s and men’s apparel and accessories. A long time coming (to say the least), the partnership has been delayed for more than a year due to COVID-19, with the original release scheduled for April 2020. Fan’s of patterns and colours are sure to be pleased, as Sabyasachi pieces feature stripes, florals, organic motifs and more. Perfect for the August sun, act fast as these H&M collabs are notorious for selling out.

Post Malone-approved Canadian brand New Tone Studios launched its latest streetwear collection on August 11. Founded in 2018 by Bijan Celani, the brand initially built its name by hosting radio shows and throwing events in downtown Vancouver. It wasn’t until Celani created uniforms for their parties that the clothing line took off. The latest assortment includes beanie and trucker hats, crewnecks, sweats and t-shirts, ranging in price from $40 to $165.

The eighties are back — at least according to Reebok. The shoe brand has revamped the original graphics from the 1988 Human Rights Now! World Tour (a benefit concert series that raised awareness for organizations like Amnesty International) in new unisex sneakers and apparel. To top it all off, Reebok is also donating $270,000 to RISE, a non-profit that educates and empowers the sports community to improve social justice.
