We’ve talked about romantic dates and dates with our kids. But what about evenings out with friends? When grabbing drinks with Gemma or heading to a chatty ladies’ dinner (no husbands allowed), I love wearing something pretty that makes me feel like myself. For grabbing lunch on a weekend, I might go for block heels with a silk V-neck. The floral pattern lends a touch of romance, but the croc-embossed leather adds some edge. Also, I like how the sandals have a low heel, so after lunch, you can walk around together and people watch, without any blisters.
For a picnic situation, I’d pair a gingham dress with simple flat sandals. Can we take a second to admire the twist detail? Flats are great for traveling, too, and I would wear these All. Summer. Long.

For my favorite kind of friend date — a dessert date — I’d choose a sweet top and polished flats. Bonus: You could also double these patent flats as everyday work shoes.
