This house is in Shelter Island Heights, a hamlet in the town of Shelter Island, in Suffolk County. The neighborhood, which is notable for its well-preserved Victorian homes, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. The property is a short walk from Grand Avenue, home to a hardware store, a post office, a coffee shop and an inn in a building dating to the 1870s.
