Re-Designed Cross Port Exhaust Flow

Mechanically, there are no major changes, but the cross-port flow of exhaust gases has been re-designed, which is said to result in better flow of charge and exhaust gases, and translates to better power and torque output. The engine now features a repositioned lambda sensor that monitors internal and external variables more efficiently to give consistent performance and cleaner emissions regardless of any road condition.

The changes have also resulted in marginally better performance, and the company says there’s a noticeable punch in the mid-range, resulting in stronger acceleration. The 293 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine now makes 27 bhp at around 6,800 rpm and 27.03 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The exhaust note has been changed for a throatier sound as well.

New Colours & Graphics

The 2021 Jawa 42 features three new colours, Orion Red, Sirius White and AllStar Black. A grey classic sport stripe now runs along the length of the motorcycle, and it also gets re-designed body graphics. The overall silhouette is similar, but the most visible change is the blacked-out treatment that runs across the mechanical parts of the bike.

Re-Designed Seat, Side-Stand

The seat pan has been redesigned, and the seat cushioning is new as well, to provide better comfort and more room. Overall, the seat length has increased marginally. The design of the side stand has also been changed, apparently to aid in cornering clearance; the earlier side stand used to scrape easily when taking corners.
