Labor Day, celebrated on the first Monday of every September, honors millions of hardworking Americans across the country. It’s a day in which the U.S. Department of Labor pays tribute to the “greatest worker in the world,” awarding time off with lively parades and festivals. It’s also an ideal time to take advantage of Labor Day sales and spend time at the pool with a great book.
Although no one is certain who first proposed the national holiday, observed since 1887, it’s come to be known as the end of the summer event and the start of back-to-school season. But before you start thinking about buying supplies and clothes for the new school year, take a moment to truly enjoy a three-day weekend with delicious food and drinks. No matter your profession, it’s always refreshing to take a breath and enjoy a break. On September 6, appreciate a well-deserved day off with a one last BBQ and an inspirational quote honoring the effort you’ve put into a tough year.
