Ajay Devgn Completes 30 Years In Bollywood. Here’s How Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan And Others Wished The Star

It has been 30 years since Ajay Devgn burst onto the big screen straddling two bikes with the swag of a superstar. And 30 years later, the superstar tag remains glued to him and how! The actor, who has created an empire for himself along with legions of loyal fans, celebrates 30 years in the film industry today. His first film, Phool Aur Kaante, was released on 22 November 1991 and there has been no looking back. To celebrate this extraordinary milestone, colleagues and fans of the actor have been sharing posts and pictures on social media. And one of the most heartfelt wishes came from Akshay Kumar, who recently shared screen space with Ajay Devgn in the Rohit Shetty film, Sooryavanshi.

Sharing a still from the sets of Sooryavanshi in which the two actors play super cops, Akshay Kumar threw light on their friendship that began decades ago when the two superstars were just young actors hungry to make a mark in Bollywood. 

In the caption, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Mujhe yaad hai when as newbies, main aur tu saath saath Juhu beach pe martial arts practice karte the when your dad used to train us (I still remember the days when we as newbies would practice martial arts on Juhu beach when your dad used to train us),” referring to Ajay Devgn’s father, veteran stunt choreographer and action director Veeru Devgan.

Akshay Kumar added, “Kya din the yaar (Those were the days) Ajay Devgn, and just like that it’s been 30 years to Phool Aur Kaante. Time flies, friendship stays!”

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan too wished Ajay Devgn on the occasion, praising him not just for his work but also his off-screen persona. In a tweet, Amitabh Bachchan said, “Ajay Devgn completes 30 years in the Film Industry, on 22nd Nov, when his film Phool Aur Kante released. Soft-spoken, non-interfering, yet filled with passion. My congratulations Ajay, may you continue for another 70.”

Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn have worked together in films such as Khakee, Major Saab and Satyagraha.

Director Milan Luthria, who worked with Ajay Devgn in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai also shared a note on the occasion. “Unbridled talent. Unbelievable discipline. Unwavering focus. Congratulations Ajay. Can’t wait to be on set together,” the director wrote.

And, what does Ajay Devgn have to say about the milestone? Well, the actor’s team created a video in which one of the team members goes up to the actor while he is working out and congratulates him for having completed 30 years in the industry. To this, Ajay Devgn says, “I have just started warming up,” and adds, “Dua mein yaad rakhna (Keep in your prayers).”

Sharing the video, Ajay Devgn, who is known for being an introvert and a man of few words, wrote, “My team made me repost this. But, thank you for all your love. Dua mein yaad rakhna…”

Ajay Devgn was last seen in the film Sooryavanshi. His upcoming projects include RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Mayday, Maidaan and Thank God. He is married to actress Kajol and the couple has two children.
