A new high-fashion collaboration is brewing. In a collection that celebrates femininity, confidence, glamour and power, Jimmy Choo and Mugler have joined forces to create a selection of shoes and boots that can turn just about anyone into a footwear fanatic. “A shoe finishes the look and defines character. I have always associated Jimmy Choo with a very strong sense of sculpture in shoes, a balance of sharpness and curve,” said Mugler Creative Director Casey Cadwallader in a press release. “Both Mugler and Jimmy Choo are forward and sensual, and both worn by strong and confident women. That’s why this collaboration makes so much sense.”
Wuxly partners with Mikinakoos Children’s Fund to support Indigenous youth
Canadian outerwear brand Wuxly is stepping up to support Indigenous youth across Northwestern Ontario. In the thick of winter indeed, 230 winter parkas are being donated across 15 different remote First Nations communities. Many of these regions don’t have permanent roads in and out, so with the help of Mikinakoos Children’s Fund, Wuxly is hoping to combat their lack of access to winter necessities.
Jenny Bird announces an International Women’s Day initiative
This International Women’s Day, Jenny Bird is partnering with the Nanny Angel Network to help support mothers with cancer. From now until March 7, $20 from each purchase of the JB Monogram necklace will be donated to the organization, which provides free childcare support to these mothers as well as tools to help their children navigate the difficult journey.
Fashion and science collide in Nordstrom’s latest pop-up
Materials science company Pangaia gets the spotlight in the latest New Concepts@Nordstrom shop, which will feature a range of products that speak to its core of innovation through science and high-tech naturalism. But this isn’t any ordinary pop-up. Pangaia has worked closely with Nordstrom to make this space climate positive. They are measuring and offsetting the entire carbon footprint of the retail experience (plus 10 percent), while accounting for employee commuting, material use, material transport, site electricity and heating.
Adidas x Ivy Park welcomes the Ivy Heart collection
Adidas and Ivy Park have caught the love bug. Dubbed Ivy Heart, this new collection features a striking palette of reds, pinks and neutrals across a wide range of apparel. Think bodysuits, rompers and velour jackets, plus quintessential footwear silhouettes like Ultraboosts and slides, all with that sweet V-Day appeal.
Parachute launches an organic collection
On February 15, homeware brand Parachute is launching its first-ever organic collection in Canada. In an effort to take a more conscious approach to consumption, new bedding, towels, loungewear and robes are being made with GOTS Certified textiles, all while upholding the soft, luxurious feel the label is known for.
