Brian J. Bruess, president of St. Norbert College, in Wisconsin, has been named president of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, the first joint president of both institutions.
Annesa Cheek, president of St. Clous Technical and Community College, has been named president of Frederick Community College.
J. Kyle Dalpe, provost and vice president for finance at Western Nevada College, has been named interim president after serving as officer in charge.
Robin Farias-Eisner, director of the Henry Lynch Comprehensive Cancer Research Center and chief academic officer in the School of Medicine at Creighton University, has been named president of Western University of Health Sciences.
Jeff Gingerich, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of Scranton, has been named president of St. Bonaventure University. He replaces Joseph Zimmer, who has served as acting president since Dennis DePerro’s death.
Robyn E. Hannigan, provost at Clarkson University, in New York, has been named president of Ursinus College.
John Hoffman, vice chancellor for academic and student affairs at the University of Minnesota at Crookston, has been named president of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College.
Russell A. Kavalhuna, president of Henry Ford College, in Michigan, has been named chancellor of Virginia’s Community Colleges.
Tina King, assistant superintendent/vice president for student affairs at Southwestern College, in California, has been named president of the San Diego College of Continuing Education.
Lori Kloos, vice president for administration and chief financial officer at St. Cloud Technical and Community College, has been named interim president.
Diane Recinos, interim president of Berkeley College since October 2021, has been named to the post permanently.
Sue Ott Rowlands, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Northern Kentucky University, has been named president of Randolph College, in Virginia.
Kathy Schwaig, interim president of Kennesaw State University since July 2021, has been named to the post permanently.
Edward Serna, president of the University of Maine at Farmington, has been named president of Winthrop University. He will replace George Hynd, who has served as interim president since January 2020.
Toyin Tofade, dean of the College of Pharmacy at Howard University, has been named president of the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She will be the first Black woman to serve as president of the college.
Resignations
Bethany Bullock, president of Northeast State Community College since 2019, has resigned.
Bryan Reece, chancellor of Contra Costa Community College, resigned after being placed on administrative leave.
Ruth J. Simmons, president of Prairie View A&M University since 2017, plans to step down.
Retirements
Francesco Cesareo, president of Assumption University since 2007, plans to retire at the end of June.
Jimmy R. Jenkins Sr., president of Livingstone College since 2006, plans to retire on July 1.
Tom Keegan, president of Skagit Valley College, in Washington, plans to retire on August 31.
Linda Lujan, president of Lamar Community College, in Colorado, plans to retire in December after six years leading the college.

DEATHS
Theodore (Ted) Lane Bracken Sr., former director of federal relations at the Consortium on Financing Higher Education, died on March 9 due to complications from cancer. He was 78.
John R. (Jack) Breihan, a professor emeritus of history at Loyola University Maryland, died of complications from Parkinson’s disease on February 18. He was 74.
Lauro Cavazos, a former president of Texas Tech University and U.S. secretary of education from 1988 to 1990, died on March 15. He was 95.
Carlton Haywood Jr., an assistant professor in the Berman Institute of Bioethics and in the division of hematology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, died on December 31. He was 45.
