NBA fans react to Draymond Green’s controversial ejection
[ad_1]
The Warriors fell to the Knicks on Thursday night after losing Draymond Green to a controversial ejection in the first half.
Green earned a technical foul for arguing with a referee just before the end of the first quarter. Then, with just over a minute remaining before halftime and the Warriors trailing the Knicks in a close game, Green was whistled for his second technical foul after… yelling at rookie teammate James Wiseman. Green was calling out Wiseman for a botched play that resulted in a turnover, but the referee appeared to believe that Green was yelling at the officials. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game that officials admitted to him that they mistakenly thought Green was yelling at them and mistakenly ejected Green for shouting a profanity.
The Knicks went on to win the game, 119-104.
Here’s what NBA fans (and players) were saying about the mistake:
Draymond gets ejected for yelling at James….his own teammate, cmon man let’s do better

Oubre gets a tech for blowing a kiss
Draymond gets a tech for talking to his own teammate.Refs do better

Objectively bad ejection from official, running Draymond Green for briefly yelling at Wiseman, not the ref. Probably will be rescinded tomorrow. But this is also the risk of getting that early first T in any game. One ref error away from being banished. https://t.co/3mbeLZy0kL

This is hilarious. Draymond ejected for cursing out James Wiseman — his TEAMMATE — for a turnover. NBA officiating this season has been something special.

I haven’t REALLY turned up an NBA game to investigate audio in a while but I needed to hear what Draymond Green said to get tossed. He yelled “F*** THAT!” to teammate James Wiseman. Then, the referee said: “F*** that, I’m not listening to cursing”, and ended his night’s work.

The worst part is how smug the refs are afterwards like they did nothing wrong. It’d be so@much better if they had the humility to just say “my bad” and take the T away smh https://t.co/ywBKcORlRq
