Love is in the air in the Azmi-Akhtar household as it has been for the past 37 years. Bollywood legends, actress Shabana Azmi and writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar are celebrating their 37th wedding anniversary today. The couple, who got married in 1984, are known for their immense contribution to Indian cinema and the Hindi film industry. As wishes for the couple come in from various quarters, Shabana Azmi has a very special note for her husband on the happy occasion. Sharing a candid throwback image in which the duo are all smiles, Shabana Azmi wrote, “37 years together…The total has been more than the sum of its parts. Shaadi ki salgirah hum dono ko mubarak (Happy anniversary to both of us).”
Reacting to the post, actress Aditi Rao Hydari said, “Happy anniversary,” with a bunch of emojis.

Shabana Azmi often treats us to pictures and videos of herself along with her husband, Javed Akhtar. Recently, the actress shared a photo of the couple posing in front of the iconic Taj Mahal, holding hands. In the caption, Shabana stated, “At the Taj a couple of years ago.”
And the couple, who seems to have a penchant for travelling, was also clicked in Paris with their hands around each other. “Paris… a few years ago,” the actress wrote in the caption.
Shabana Azmi’s throwback memories are not limited to just posts with her husband. A few weeks ago, the actress shared a photo with Naseeruddin Shah from an award ceremony and described him as her “favourite co-star”.
We also saw Shabana Azmi share a lovely birthday wish for actress Rekha with a picture that is truly frame-worthy. The image shows Rekha planting a kiss on Shabana Azmi’s face as Shabana wins an award.
In the caption, Shabana Azmi wrote, “Salgirah Mubarak, re. Jeete raho khush raho. Bahut saara pyar (Happy birthday. Stay happy and blessed. Lots of love). I cherish our friendship, your warmth and your humour. Salamat raho (Stay safe).”
