Tata Motors Records A Total Y-o-Y Growth Of 54 Per Cent

Tata Motors has recorded a YoY growth of 119 per cent in the passenger vehicle segment.
Tata Motors has recorded an overall (passenger vehicles + commercial vehicles) year-on-year (YoY) sales growth of 54 per cent in February at 58,473 units as compared to 38,002 units sold in the same month a year ago. The Company’s month-on-month (MoM) sales growth also went up marginally at 1 per cent, compared to January 2021, when the company sold 57,742 units. In fact, the passenger vehicle (PV) segment has been one of the significant contributors to the company’s volumes, registering a YoY growth of 119 per cent at 27,225 units, as compared to 12,430 units sold a year ago. Tata Motors has also recorded a MoM growth of 1 per cent in PV sales, as against 26,978 units sold a month ago.

Coming to the CV segment, the company has recorded a YoY growth of 21 per cent selling 33,966 units as compared to 28,071 units sold in the same month last year. The company has also recorded a MoM growth of 3 per cent in CV sales, as compared to 32,909 units sold in January 2021. Tata Motors’ exports grew by 8 per cent last month at 2718 units as compared to 2514 units exported in the same month a year ago, while on the MoM basis it saw an growth of 27 per cent as it exported 2145 units in January 2021.

The growth of the PV segment is primarily attributed to an increasing demand for models like the Altroz, Nexon and Tiago, among others. The company had also launched the new 2021 Tata Safari last month.
