Planning a future vacation increases happiness, according to People. And there’s no happier place in the world to travel to than Disney World. But with more than 58 million people visiting Disney World each year, it can get very busy. So, when is the best time to visit the theme park and entertainment resort?
Time of the year
If it’s crowds you’re worried about then you want to visit at off-peak times. This means avoiding school holidays and big annual events, such as Halloween and Christmas. January is typically the quietest month to visit Disney World. There are usually fewer children and family around in January as youngsters will have mostly returned to school. This can be the ideal time to visit if you have young children who aren’t yet at school or if you just want to enjoy the Disney experience at your own pace. However, January is the coldest time of the year to visit Disney World as temperatures typically fall between 9°C and 22°C.
On site accommodation
You only really get to enjoy the full Disney experience by staying onsite at one of Disney World’s many hotels. There are currently more than 25 different resorts and more than 36,000 rooms to choose from during your stay. The most popular resorts to stay in include the Polynesian Village Resort, Wilderness Lodge, and the Yacht Club Resort. These resorts tend to get booked up fast, so you may have to choose between visiting during quieter periods of the year or opting for an alternative resort. You can get around this by joining the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). This involves using points to book your vacation. You can book into resorts between 7 and 11 months in advance. You can even buy more points or sell your Disney points. The benefit of this is you could find a DVC resort that’s completely sold out elsewhere.
Magical events
Disney is great for celebrating big events. 2022 marks Disney World’s 50th anniversary, so it’s going to be a busy year. The full celebrations are going on for 18 months – between October 2021 and March 2023. So, if you want to be part of the special birthday, book a vacation to Disney during this time. Christmas at Disney World is magical and is an experience like no other. There’s fireworks, after-hours events, Disney-themed festive snacks, stunning decorations, and so much more. Christmas at Disney World runs from November until the end of December, so it’s certainly worth visiting then if you want to enjoy a Christmas like no other. Other events of note happening in 2022, include the Disney Princess Half Marathon event in February and the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival which is taking place between March and July.
Disney World is great no matter what time of the year you visit. But to make the most of your experience, you should weigh up what you want from your trip and book your vacation for the most suitable time for you.
