Top Producers of Fulbright U.S. Scholars and Students, 2021-22

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar and Fulbright U.S. Student Programs are sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to support academic exchanges between the United States and over 150 countries around the world. The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers teaching and research grants for college faculty and administrators, as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars, and others. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants to college graduates, graduate students, and early-career professionals for individually designed study or research programs and English teaching assistantships abroad. Almost 600 U.S. colleges actively participate in the Fulbright Program.

Two doctoral, one master’s, and two baccalaureate institutions, all highlighted with boldfaced text, were top producers of both U.S. scholars and U.S. students in 2021-22. The Fulbright data reflect the total number of awards offered for the 2021-22 program year.

Categories are based on the 2018 Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
