TVS Motor Company despatched a total of 238,983 units in April 2021 which includes domestic sales of 226,193 units. Like many other automotive OEMs, TVS posted marginal sales of 9,640 units in April 2020 due to the nationwide lockdown imposed last year. Therefore, the base for this year is low and the percentage growth should be treated as an anomaly. TVS’ sales in April 2021 too have been slow, owing to ongoing lockdown in many parts of the country. For reference, the company sold 202,155 units domestically in March 2021, in comparison to 131,386 units in April 2021 which is de-growth of 41.91 per cent. TVS Motor Company said it has reduced dealer stocks to support the channel partners and will produce to maintain adequate inventories for customer demand when the markets reopens.

TVS sold 133,227 motorcycles in April 2021, compared to 157,294 motorcycles sold in March 2021. Similarly, scooter sales in April 2021 consisted of 65,213 units, while scooter sales in March 2021 were 104,513 units. The company exported 107,185 units in April 2021 as against 9,640 units exported in April 2020. Similarly, TVS posted its best ever monthly exports in March 2021, with 119,422 units exported. TVS registered two-wheeler export of 94,807 units in April 2021 as against 8,134 units in April 2020. Coming to three-wheelers, TVS exported 12,790 units in April 2021 in comparison to 1,506 units exported in April 2020.

TVS reported revenue from operations of ₹ 5,322 crore during the fourth quarter of financial year 2020-21, registering 53 per cent growth against ₹ 3,481 crore reported during January to April, 2020. Net profit is reported at ₹ 289 crore for the fourth quarter of FY 2021, recording a growth of 292 per cent as against ₹ 74 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. However, it has to be noted that the fourth quarter of the last fiscal was also during the complete lockdown due to COVID-19 in March and April, 2020. During Q4 of FY21, two-wheeler sales in the domestic market grew 41 per cent and international markets 74 per cent, ahead of industry growth of 24 per cent and 33 per cent, respectively.
