Wanderlust What is Mindfulness 3.0?
[ad_1]
We see mindfulness pretty much everywhere these days. In our modern world, many are looking for things that allow us to be a little more sane, more honest, more whole, and certainly a little more well. Mindfulness brings about these benefits, as well as many others. Your favorite celebrity is doing mindfulness, your neighbor down the block is doing mindfulness. Your doctor recommended mindfulness to you. So what, exactly, is mindfulness? What might mindfulness have for you? And if you are interested in a mindfulness journey, where do you go, who do you talk to, and what do you need to know?
At MNDFL, we are sharing Mindfulness 3.0 with the world. The secret about mindfulness is that it doesn’t have to be fancy, complicated, or specialized. You don’t have to sit on a cushion, go on a retreat or even be in a quiet room. You don’t have to feel peaceful or spiritual. Mindfulness can show up right in the middle of your life: with co-workers next door, kids running around the house, allies marching next to you at the protest.
Mindfulness 3.0 invites you to put aside any ideas about why mindfulness isn’t meant for you. And if it sounds like we’re saying mindfulness is for everyone, actually we are. Mindfulness can be shared in schools, corporate offices, nonprofits, government agencies, on the playing field, in therapy sessions. It can be offered in large groups, one-on-one, or in small intimate settings. It can meet you—and you can meet it—wherever you are.
Mindfulness is nothing more and nothing less than simply returning to oneself over and over again: one’s own body, one’s own being, one’s own truth. While certain techniques, paths, or traditions may not be for you, there is always some way in which you can find yourself with an opportunity to return, to rest, to abide, to find joy in your own body, in your own truth, over and over again.
Rev. angel Kyodo williams, a partner of MNDFL, says, “Mindfulness is nothing special, but it’s also profound. The path you take with it is entirely up to you. There is no—truly—right or wrong way to you about finding your way to mindfulness. It’s about what makes mindfulness work for you. At the end of the day, that’s what matters. Allow yourself to be open and consider, where is the entry point for YOU in mindfulness?”
Mindfulness is a way of being with ourselves and each other, in the world. We were born for this, into this, and we are meant to share this with one another. Human to human. Heart to heart. Join us in a journey to practice and spread Mindfulness 3.0, and find out for yourself.
