What Kids Shows and Movies Do You Like?

This weekend, the boys and I cuddled up and watched Ferdinand. It’s such a great movie, and I realized the moral of the story is that you don’t have to buy into toxic masculinity! You can choose not to fight! You can smell flowers and share your vulnerable feelings with other guys! You can keep your gentle heart intact!
Later, as I put him to bed, Toby asked if we could watch more movies like Ferdinand. When I asked what kind of movie that would be, he said, “Movies that make you feel sad in a good way.” Yes, movies that are touching. I hear you.
Anton, left, and Toby with Ferdinand vibes.
I’m curious, what movies and TV shows have you enjoyed watching with the kids in your life? We’ve seen allllllll of Full House, Fuller House, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine; and favorite movies include Parent Trap and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Plus, an old fan letter from three-year-old Anton (transcribed by me) to the actor Dwayne Johnson, who performed the voice of Maui in Moana; the letter was sent along with Anton’s drawer of a spider:
Dear Dwayne Johnson the Rock,
I hope you have a good time with my spider. And I hope you have a good time at all. And see you another day when you invite me there. 89 minutes to Brooklyn where our house is! The picture is a spider. There are also veins like in our body and there are straight ones and curly ones, also loopty-loop ones.
Goodbye, Dwayne Johnson!
Love, Anton
What do you watch with your kids? I’d love any recommendations!
