The Jeep Compass facelift gets updated design and styling along with several new features

The 2021 Jeep Compass Facelift has been launched in India. Prices for the new Compass start at ₹ 16.99 lakh and go up to ₹ 28.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since its launch in 2017, the Jeep Compass has been the mainstay for the company in India. India is just the second market globally to get the 2021 Jeep Compass. The 2021 model gets a significant mid-life update, especially to the cabin and features. The dashboard design is completely new and now gets a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen along with new UConnect 5 system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include ventilated seats up front, wireless charging, fully digital instrument console and a new 360-degree parking camera as well. Jeep has also used premium soft-touch materials along with new knobs and buttons for in-car controls.

The 2021 Jeep Compass comes with a host of visual updates including a new dark shade of green body colour option. The SUV also looks more aggressive than the outgoing model, and it gets a bigger chrome finished seven-slat grille, sleek-looking new LED headlights with LED DRLs, redesigned bumper, tweaked faux skid plate, bigger air dam, new fog lamps, new 5-spoke alloy wheels, new LED taillights and more. There will be seven colours on offer, out of which, three are all-new colours. The three new colours are Techno Metallic Green, Galaxy Blue and Bright White.

In terms of safety, the new Jeep Compass gets seven airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and a bunch of electronics including electronic stability program (ESP), brake assist (BA), terrain modes, hill assist (HA) and hill descent control (HDC) among others. Under the hood, the 2021 Jeep Compass gets the same set of engines as before – the 1.4-litre Multi-air petrol engine and 2.0-litre Multi-jet diesel unit. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox, an optional 9-speed torque converter and a 7-speed DCT automatic, respectively. Jeep offers 4×4 tech on select variants.

The 2021 Compass, the SUV offers in four trims, which are Sport, Longitude, Limited and the new top-trim, which is the S. The top trim will be a new variant that will be offered globally as a new variant. On occasion of Jeep’s 80th anniversary, the 2021 Compass also gets a limited 80th anniversary edition which is priced at ₹ 22.96 lakh and will be offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine and manual transmission. The Jeep Compass will go up against the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Skoda Karoq and the Hyundai Tucson.
