Hero XPulse 200 Sales Cross 10,000 Units In Kerala

The Hero XPulse 200 seems to be gathering popularity amongst motorcycling enthusiasts in Kerala.

The Hero XPulse 200, the entry-level adventure motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp, has crossed the landmark 10,000 unit sales mark in Kerala, strongly establishing the XPulse brand in the state. Designed and developed in-house at Hero MotoCorp’s R&D hub, the Centre for Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the XPulse 200 has created its own niche in the 200 cc motorcycle segment. Powered by a 200 cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine, the XPulse 200 makes 18 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 16.45 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It’s a versatile motorcycle, which can be used for the urban commute, as well as double up as an entry-level off-road companion.

Last year, Hero MotoCorp also launched a Rally Kit, developed specially for the Hero XPulse 200, priced at ₹ 38,000. The Rally Kit includes longer travel suspension, handlebar risers, flat rally seat, off-road tyres, and a redesigned gear lever and brake pedal to be used with off-road boots. In stock form, the Hero XPulse 200 gets 190 mm of suspension travel at the front, and 170 mm travel at the rear.

The Rally Kit offers full adjustability on the suspension, with 250 mm travel on the front, and 220 mm travel on the rear monoshock. The ground clearance has also gone up to 275 mm, up from 220 mm on the stock XPulse 200. The raised handlebar offers more leverage for riding off-road and standing up on the footpegs, and the flatter and taller seat (110 mm taller) offers a comfortable perch and a tall stance, for off-road riding. Also included are the full knobby rally-spec tyres from Maxis. We finally have our hands on a Hero XPulse Rally and will be bringing a review and off-road ride experience of the bike soon.
