Maruti Suzuki Increases Prices Of Select Models By 1.6% From April 2021

Maruti Suzuki has said that the revised prices will be effective from today, April 16, 2021
It was in March 2021 when we first told you that Maruti Suzuki will be increasing car prices in India from April. Now, the company has officially announced an upwards revision of up to 1.6 per cent in prices for select models in its line-up. The Indo-Japanese carmaker has stated that the price hike is mainly due to an increase in various input costs, and the revised prices will be effective from today, April 16, 2021, onwards. The amount will vary for different models.

This is the second time that Maruti Suzuki India has increased vehicle prices this year. Earlier in January 2021, the company had increased prices for select models by up to ₹ 34,000, sighting the same reason for increasing input costs. This time around the price hike will be as high as around up to ₹ 20,000 depending on the model and variant.

Among other automakers, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Isuzu India had also announced their decision to increase vehicle prices in India from April 2021. In fact, it’s quite common for Original Equipment Manufacturer or OEMs to increase vehicle prices in India at the start of the new financial year.

Right now, Maruti Suzuki India has 15 models in its combined line-up from Arena and Nexa brands. While its most affordable model, the Alto is priced between ₹ 3 lakh to ₹ 4.60 lakh, its flagship model, the S-Cross is priced from ₹ 8.39 lakh, going up to ₹ 12.39 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
