Petrol, Diesel Price Today: Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across the four metros on Saturday, June 19, according to data by the Indian Oil Corporation. In Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 96.93 per litre, after being hiked by 27 paise yesterday. Diesel is retailed at Rs 87.69 per lire, after being increased by 28 paise yesterday. In Mumbai, the revised rates of petrol and diesel are Rs 103.08 per litre and Rs 95.14 per litre respectively. Fuel rates vary across the states in India due to value-added tax. The state-run oil marketing companies – Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum align the rates of domestic fuel with that of the global crude oil prices by taking into account any changes in foreign exchange rates. Any changes in fuel prices are implemented with effect from 6 am every day.
Meanwhile, on Friday, June 18, brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, fell 0.64 per cent to $ 72.61 per barrel. The rupee gained 22 paise to settle at 73.86 against the US dollar yesterday, snapping its eight-session losing streak.
