New Delhi:
So Looop Lapeta, starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin, released on streaming giant Netflix and on its release day, the film got a shout out from Run Lola Run star Franka Potente. For the uninitiated, Looop Lapeta is a Hindi adaptation of German hit Run Lola Run. It has been directed by Aakash Bhatia. In the original film, the lead actress was Franka Potente and Moritz Bleibtreu played the role of her boyfriend. Tahir has stepped into the shoes of Moritz in Looop Lapeta. On the release day, Franka shared a special video message for the film’s cast on Twitter.
Franka Potente says in the video, “Hi guys, this is Franka. I think it is so exciting that you are shooting a remake of Run Lola Run after all these years. I am honoured. I think it’s really cool so I just wanted to wish you good luck. Good luck, Taapsee, you’ll be amazing and I can’t wait to see the film.”
Replying to Franka’s message, Taapsee Pannu wrote: “This makes it special looooooop number of times! Thank you, Franka! It’s launch day for Looop Lapeta and here we have the OG Savi, loooped along to win our hearts.”

Run Lola Run, an experimental thriller, was Germany’s entry for the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language category in 1999. The film showcased three alternatives alongside Lola’s run (precisely twenty minutes to save her boyfriend’s life).
Meanwhile, Looop Lapeta opened to positive reviews from film critics. Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV, gave the film 3 stars our of 5 and wrote: “Taapsee Pannu plunges headlong into the funky whirligig and delivers a performance that holds the film together. Tahir Raj Bhasin plays second fiddle but never fails to hit the right notes. Looop Lapeta is also enlivened by the supporting acts, especially by Manik Papneja and Raghav Raj Kakker.”
