Ayushmann Khurrana’s much-awaited film Doctor G finally has a release date. The film, which features the actor alongside Rakul Preet Singh, will hit the theatres on June 17, next year. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter. In a tweet, he said, “Doctor G release date locked. Doctor G starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah to release in cinemas on June 17, 2022.” The movie, which is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, is produced by Junglee Pictures. Along with the tweet, Taran Adarsh also shared a photo of the lead pair in doctor’s garb.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, too, shared the same picture and announced the happy news on Instagram. In the caption, he wrote, “Get ready to book your appointment in cinemas on June 17, 2022 as Rakul Preet, Shefali Shah and I come together for Doctor G.”
The same post was also shared by Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah on their social media timelines.
In July this year, Ayushmann Khurrana shared the first look of the movie on Instagram. In the image, the actor is seen in a lab coat and holding a book on gynaecology. He has a pair of spectacles and a stethoscope in his pocket. For caption, Ayushmann Khurrana wrote: “Doctor G taiyyar ho kar nikle hain. Ab hogi shooting [Doctor G is ready. Now shooting will begin].”
On his first day on sets, Ayushmann Khurrana had also shared his feelings about the project. Posting an image of him on the sets wearing a face mask, the actor wrote, “Day 1 Doctor G. This is the third film l will be shooting in the pandemic. But summers will be tough. One of the best scripts I’ve ever read. Too excited to collaborate with Anubhuti Kashyap, Rakul Preet Singh and Junglee Pictures.”
Doctor G is touted to be a campus comedy-drama.
