The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has won the coveted title this year by beating Audi India’s new entry-level model for India, the Q2 SUV.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has won the 2021 CNB Entry Premium Car of the Year award. The entry-level sedan in the company’s India line-up, the car was launched in India in October 2020, and the car is assembled locally, at the company’s Chennai plant. The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has won the coveted title this year by beating Audi India’s new entry-level model for India, the Q2 SUV. The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options.
The diesel version of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with a 2.0-litre oil burner that churns out 187 bhp and 400 Nm and can clock triple digit speeds in just 7.5 seconds. The engine is mated to a seven-speed steptronic automatic transmission as standard. The petrol version on the other hand – the BMW 220i M Sport – is powered by a 2.0-litre TwinPower four-cylinder turbo petrol engine that makes produces an output of 186 bhp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm at 1350-4600 rpm. The petrol mill comes mated to an eight-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission with shift paddles.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is offered in three variants – 220d Sport Line, 220i M Sport, and 220d M Sport, which are priced at ₹ 40.40 lakh, ₹ 40.90 lakh and ₹ 42.30 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.
