BTS Member Suga Tests Positive For COVID-19

Suga, member of the popular K-pop band BTS, has tested positive for COVID-19, management company Big Hit Entertainment in a statement on Friday, reports news agency PTI. The 28-year-old is currently in quarantine and is asymptomatic. “Suga completed his second round of the COVID-19 vaccination in late August and is not presenting any symptoms as of today. He is currently administering self-care at home per the guidelines of the healthcare authorities,” the statement by Big Hit Entertainment read.
“Suga, who has had a number of personal engagements in the US during BTS’ official time off, had tested negative for the PCR test taken before travelling to the US, and began his self-quarantine after taking the PCR test upon his return to Korea,” the statement added.
The company also stated that Suga has had no contact with fellow BTS members Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
On the work front, BTS had announced this month that they will take an “extended period of rest” so that the band can get “re-inspired and recharge with creative energy.” The band recently performed at four concerts in Los Angeles. During their US visit, they also performed their latest track Permission To Danceat the UN headquarters.
BTS’ impressive discography includes hits like Dynamite, Boy With Luv, Spring Day, MIC Drop, Blood Sweat And Tears, Fake Love and Butter, among many others.
