CNG, PNG Prices Hiked From Today, Check Latest Rates Here

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) announced a hike in prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) with effect from 6 am on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. The natural gas supplier of the national capital region increased CNG prices by 70 paise per kg while PNG prices were raised by 91 paise per SCM (standard cubic meter). With the latest price revision, the CNG price in Delhi now stands at Rs 43.40 per kg while PNG will be available for Rs 28.41 per SCM. According to a statement released by the gas supplier, the prices of CNG have been revised to partially offset the impact on account of the increase in its operational, manpower, and fixed costs amid the COVID-19 pandemic. With effect from 6 am on 2nd March 2021, revised CNG price in NCT of Delhi is Rs.43.40/- per kg; while revised PNG price is Rs.28.41/- per SCM (including VAT).

According to Indraprastha Gas Limited, the new price for CNG is Rs. 43.40 per kg in Delhi and Rs 49.08 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. In Kanpur, Hamirpur, and Fatehpur, the revised CNG price would be Rs 60.50 per kg while the CNG price in Muzzafarnagar and Shamli would be Rs 57.25 per kg. For the state of Haryana, the revised CNG price in Rewari would be Rs 54.10 per kg, while it stands revised to Rs 51.38 per kg in Karnal and Kaithal. In Gurgram, CNG prices remained the same at Rs 53.40 pe rkg. The retail price of CNG in Delhi remains the lowest in the country.
The price of PNG to the households in Delhi is increased by 91 paise per scm to Rs. 28.41 per scm, while the applicable price of domestic PNG to households in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad is Rs 28.36 per scm. In Rewari and Karnal, the applicable price of domestic PNG is Rs 28.46 per scm, which has also been increased by 91 paise per scm. The revised PNG price in Muzzafarnagar, Shamli and Meerut now stands at Rs 32.67 per scm. For the domestic PNG customers, an incentive of Rs 15 is available when they use the self-billing option through the IGL Connect Mobile app.
Domestic suppliers review the prices of piped natural gas and compressed natural gas from time to time, to align them with global benchmarks. While the prices of petrol, diesel as well as liquified petroleum gas (LPG) in the country are derived from crude oil, the rates of CNG are calculated based on the price of natural gas, besides the rupee-dollar exchange rate.
