Jack is Back for Toronto

There still may be time to scoop up Mats Zuccarello if you haven’t already done so. He was rostered in just 3% of Yahoo leagues when he appeared on Waiver Wired last week and now he’s up to 41%. Martin Necas is still available in 81% of Yahoo leagues. Anthony Cirelli returned to action on Saturday and skated on Tampa Bay’s second line. He scored a shorthanded goal and added an assist. He is rostered in 41% of Yahoo leagues and should be snatched up immediately if he’s available. Phil Kessel (34%) is also worthy of your consideration after heating up of late.

Pavel Zacha (New Jersey) – C, LW – Rostered in 23% of Yahoo leagues

Zacha has been red hot this season and he’s beginning to get scooped up in most fantasy leagues. He currently leads the Devils with 13 points and four power-play points through 16 games. Consistency has been the key for Zacha, as he has amassed six goals and seven assists in his past 12 appearances. He has picked up at least one point in each of the last nine games, while being credited with 18 shots. Zacha is currently skating on the second line of the Devils and he occupies a spot on the top power-play unit.

Nick Leddy (NY Islanders) – D – Rostered in 23% of Yahoo leagues

Leddy has been held off the scoresheet once in the past seven games, while collecting seven assists and 10 shots on goal during that span. He has picked up four helpers over a three-game point streak. Leddy currently sits third on the Islanders in scoring with 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) in 20 contests this season. He also leads the team with seven power-play points.

Drake Batherson (Ottawa) – RW – Rostered in 19% of Yahoo leagues

Batherson has started to live up to his offensive potential thanks to a great run from the midway mark of February. He has supplied six goals and nine points in the last seven matches. That includes five markers and three helpers during a five-game point streak. Batherson has scored a goal in each of those contests and he has three multi-point efforts during that span. He has vaulted himself into second on the team in scoring, with 15 points in 23 games. Brady Tkachuk is just one point ahead of him. Batherson also ranks second on the Senators seven goals and third with 52 shots on target. He has meshed nicely alongside Tim Stutzle (22%) to provide Ottawa with some much-needed secondary scoring.

Jack Campbell (Toronto) – G – Rostered in 15% of Yahoo leagues

Campbell returned to action on Saturday after missing 14 games due to a leg injury and he pitched a 30-save shutout against Edmonton. The 29-year-old netminder has a 3-0-0 record this season with a 1.33 goals-against average and .951 save percentage in three games played. Frederik Andersen is currently nursing a lower-body injury, which could provide Campbell with some additional time as the starter. However, even when Andersen is back to full health, Campbell should get his fair share of playing time. He has certainly earned it and it will help keep Andersen fresher. Campbell makes for a good crease buddy for Andersen fantasy managers and he has plenty of upside as a depth option as well.

Scott Laughton (Philadelphia) – C, LW – Rostered in 11% of Yahoo leagues

Laughton made an appearance on Waiver Wired prior to scoring a hat trick against Washington on February 7. He played in his first game since that impressive performance on Saturday and scored a goal on four shots versus Buffalo. Laughton had been sidelined due to COVID protocol. He has five goals and 10 points through 14 games this season.

Andrew Mangiapane (Calgary) – LW, RW – Rostered in 8% of Yahoo leagues

Mangiapane has become somewhat of a regular on Waiver Wired this season, as he should be rostered in more leagues. He ranks second on the Flames with eight goals and he has generated 11 of his 12 points in his last 15 outings. Mangiapane has three markers, 14 shots and one assist in his past five matches.

Brett Pesce (Carolina) – D – Rostered in 7% of Yahoo leagues

Pesce has been piling up points this season and he’s on pace for the 30-point plateau for the first time. During this shortened campaign, that would be quite the accomplishment. Pesce has collected two goals, 10 assists and 26 shots in his past 15 contests. That includes one marker and three helpers in four games to finish February. Pesce also leads the Hurricanes with 28 blocked shots.

Carl Soderberg (Chicago) – C, LW – Rostered in 5% of Yahoo leagues

Entering the season, Soderberg was viewed as a candidate to play as a top-six forward for Chicago and he has been doing very well in that role recently. He has compiled four goals and eight points in his last seven outings, which includes three goals and three assists during a four-game point streak. Additionally, he has occupying a spot on Chicago’s top power-play combination.

Victor Rask (Minnesota) – C – Rostered in 3% of Yahoo leagues

Rask has taken full advantage of his opportunity to play in the top-six forward group of Minnesota due to an injury to Marcus Johansson. He has provided two goals and four assists in the last five games, while skating between Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello. That’s more points than Johansson has all season, so it will be difficult for the Wild to justify bumping him down the depth chart once Johansson is able to return.

Jared McCann (Pittsburgh) – C, LW – Rostered in 3% of Yahoo leagues

McCann returned to Pittsburgh’s lineup on Saturday following a seven-game absence because of a lower-body injury. He scored a goal and logged a season-high 19:05 of ice time, while skating on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust. McCann has three goals and six points in 12 appearances this year. He had success offensively in a limited role and is worth watching at the very least now that he has moved up the depth chart.

Honorable mentions:

Lars Eller (Washington) – C – Rostered in 4% of Yahoo leagues

An injury to Evgeny Kuznetsov moved Eller up to the top line on Saturday. He scored a goal , while playing between Alex Ovechkin and Conor Sheary. Eller will lose fantasy value if Kuznetsov returns quickly, but he has been productive this month even without the promotion. Eller has supplied three goals and eight points in his last nine outings.

Alex Tuch (Vegas) – LW, RW – Rostered in 22% of Yahoo leagues

Tuch has been playing alongside Mark Stone and Chandler Stephenson on the top line of the Golden Knights. He ranks second on the team with seven goals and he has posted 13 points in 17 matches.
